UK burger legends, The Beefy Boys, have marked 10 years since opening their first-ever restaurant in Hereford with a spectacular Las Vegas-themed anniversary party, hosted at the original restaurant that launched the brand a decade ago.

The celebration paid tribute to a defining moment in The Beefy Boys’ story, when the founders placed second at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas in 2014. As a result, they were able to use the prize money from the competition to fund the opening of their first restaurant at Old Market Hereford, ten years ago.
Founded by childhood friends Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy, Daniel Mayo-Evans, Christian Williams, and Lee Symonds, The Beefy Boys’ story began huddled around backyard barbecues, cooking burgers for fun. Early pop-ups quickly gained a cult following, drawing crowds far larger than expected and laying the foundations for what would become one of the UK’s most recognisable burger brands.
A decade on, The Beefy Boys have grown from a single site into a national name, now operating five restaurants, two food trucks, and boasting a Sunday Times bestselling recipe book, multiple industry accolades, and an international reputation for award-winning burgers.
The ten-year anniversary party transformed the original Hereford restaurant into a slice of the Las Vegas Strip for one night only, complete with entertainment including stilted showgirls, fire performers, close-up magic, casino-style blackjack and roulette tables, as well as a DJ soundtrack that carried the celebrations late into the evening.
Guests were treated to exclusive new BBQ dishes from The Beefy Boys as well as classic menu items from their award-winning menu. Drinks included Beefy Backyard Punch and the return of a fan-favourite from the restaurant’s early days, The King Bach cocktail, featuring homemade peanut-infused bourbon and banana liqueur.
The evening also raised over £3600 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital through a silent auction, with prizes donated by many of The Beefy Boys’ friends, partners, and suppliers. Highlights included a signed Bath Rugby shirt, brewery tours and tastings from Hawkestone and Wye Valley Brewery, tickets to see Michael McIntyre at the Hay Festival, and afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason.
Speaking after the event, co-founder Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy said:
“It has been so special to celebrate our ten year anniversary in the place where it all started, surrounded by the people who have supported us from day one. Coming second in Vegas all those years ago changed everything for us, but it is the support of our team, suppliers and customers that has kept us going ever since. We’re hugely grateful to everyone who has been a part of The Beefy Boys’ journey so far.”
The night brought together friends, collaborators, suppliers, and supporters from across food, hospitality, and media, reflecting the community that has grown alongside The Beefy Boys over the past decade.
