With activities taking place all summer, Sudeley Castle & Gardens is an adventure filled destination for the kids this summer. This summer the whole family can look forward to falconry experiences, Knight School, Royal Tudor sightings and the hugely popular adventure playground – there’s so much to enjoy!

Tuesdays and Fridays from 22nd July to 29th August, visitors can experience the ancient art of falconry amongst the beautiful backdrop of Sudeley Castle. Walks with Hawks returns for the second year, sharing the thrill of seeing an exceptional variety of birds of prey. From eagles to owls, the falconry display is a memorable experience for all ages and a must-see this summer at Sudeley. As part of the experience, those interested can get up close and personal with the beautiful birds, observing their individual characteristics and breathtaking acrobatic skills, and see firsthand the wonderful partnership that exists between falconers and their birds. The meet and greets are taking place all day, but the falconry display is taking place at 12:30pm.

Every Wednesday and Thursday from 23rd July to 28th August, brave adventurers of all ages are invited to dress up and step into the world of chivalry, courage and mediaeval mayhem at Sudeley’s very own Knight School. A thrilling cavalier adventure for children this summer, immersing them in the ancient art of sword-fighting, archery and jousting, just some of the knight-themed activities that lie in store. The sessions run from 10.30am to 3pm, and successful knights will leave the castle grounds knighted and certified.

A King’s Return will see history lovers’ step back in time and experience the splendour of Tudor England as Sudeley Castle commemorates 490 years since the historic visit of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. For two days (26th and 27th July), the castle grounds will come alive with costumed historic re-enactors portraying Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Thomas Cromwell, and ladies of the royal court. Visitors are encouraged to walk the very paths they once did, reliving a royal moment in history, and to engage in lively conservation as history will be brought to life.

Not forgetting the ever-popular adventure playground that’s open daily during the open season, offering kids the perfect place to blow off some steam and parents a chance to watch little ones explore and let their imaginations run wild.

With an all-new ice cream parlour, positioned within the Pavillion Café, visitors can choose from a wide selection of delicious flavours, served in either a cone or cup – the perfect summertime treat to complete a summer’s day out. There’s even ice cream for four-legged friends! Delicious treats can be purchased from the Pavillion Café and the new Shepherds Hut.
