From Monday 17th March, when Sudeley Castle re-opens for 2025, the all-new Ruins to Revival exhibition is set to captivate visitors, taking them on a journey through the castle’s dramatic history, from its Tudor splendour to its ruin and Victorian revival.
The compelling outdoor exhibition features a series of rediscovered watercolours and illustrations, set in the castle’s beautiful gardens. At the heart of the exhibition is a stunning collection of large-scale watercolours painted in 1818 by renowned topographical artist, John Buckler. These rediscovered paintings offer a rare glimpse of the castle in its ruined state. Along with these evocative artworks, visitors can explore pieces of the stone castle ruins, immerse themselves in a civil war short film and view the original alabaster block from the Tudor burial of Queen Katherine Parr, all included within general admission.
With the new season’s 30 days for the price of one return offer, families can revisit as many times as they wish within 30 days, from the day that they purchase a ticket. With so much to see and the British weather being somewhat unpredictable, visitors can relax, take their time to explore and return to experience everything the attraction has to offer for no extra charge.
Celebrate Mother’s Day in style this year with a day out to Sudeley Castle, where family friendly games await on the Mulberry Lawn, set against the spectacular backdrop of Sudeley’s ancient banqueting hall. Visitors can show the mother figure in their life how much they mean to them by treating them to a delicious Mothering Sunday Cream Tea. Priced at £14.95pp, available from 2-4pm, the cream tea includes indulgent scones, hand baked in the castle kitchen, served with fresh clotted cream and jam, alongside a choice of either tea or coffee. Available throughout the whole of Mother’s Day weekend (29th-30th March), mother figures will be made to feel like a queen with a complimentary glass of prosecco, which can be enjoyed in the beautiful Orangery overlooking the Cotswold hills or Castle Coach House.
Visitors can also enjoy everything Sudeley Castle usually has to offer, including historic exhibitions, castle rooms, dungeons, ten award winning gardens that will be displaying beautiful Spring colours, the adventure playground, and delicious treats from the Pavillion Café and the new Shepherd’s Hut.
The refreshed Pavillion Café will be offering a self-service experience on entrance and exit to the castle, including a brand-new ice cream parlour for those warmer days. The all-new Shepherd’s Hut is located in a charming new spot by The Castle Terrace, serving delicious light bites and refreshments, with plenty of outdoor seating.
