One of the region’s leading hospitality groups, A Rule of Tum is enjoying award success for Herefordshire’s favourite, The Bookshop, and more award news is also in store for the groups pizza restaurant, Leaven.
The two incredibly popular restaurants are both founded and run by A Rule of Tum, who also own acclaimed city based foodie hotspots across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire: The Burger Shop, Maneki Ramen and the newly launched gastropub Dr Foster.
The Bookshop, has been recognised as having the UK’s Best Hospitality Team at the prestigious national British Restaurant Awards 2024, marking an almost ten-year success story. The award win was announced at the glitzy ceremony in London on 28th August.
This isn’t the first award success for the popular restaurant, offering a variety of modern British cuisine dishes to Herefordians and visitors to the popular market town. The Bookshop is well known for its award-winning Sunday lunch, following the coveted Observer Food: Best Sunday lunch of the year award that was presented in 2017, impressively just a year after the restaurant first opened its doors.!
Not only that, delicious casual dining pizza restaurant, Leaven, has been listed as a finalist in six categories in the upcoming Italian awards.
A firm favourite amongst locals, it’s no wonder the delicious freshly made sour dough pizza, made on site daily, is in with the chance of winning the following awards:

- BEST NEWCOMER
- BEST RESTAURANT MIDLANDS
