This summer, visitors to The Old Bell Hotel are invited to step away from the beauty of the South Cotswolds for just a while and explore the island oasis of Tiki at Tyger Bar, where tropical cocktails and vibrant South Pacific dishes come together to create an unforgettable food and drink experience.

Open exclusively throughout the summer season on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Tiki at Tyger Bar has been designed as a destination to transport guests into an immersive tropical space while enjoying the exceptional service of a luxury country hotel. Interiors are layered with a blend of natural textures and tropical influences, warm wood tones, raffia detailing and subtle bursts of colour all bring a playful energy to the space. Polynesian-inspired motifs, dim lighting and lush plants create a tropical hideaway for friends to gather over cocktails which are bursting with fresh and exotic flavours, while sharing a variety of vibrant, mouthwatering dishes in a setting designed to evoke the feeling of laid-back island life.
We wanted to create an unexpected space for both hotel guests and visitors, a destination that is playful and vibrant, bringing together great food and creative cocktails in a setting that feels unique within the Cotswolds. Whether joining us for cocktails with friends or an evening of food and music, visitors can expect the warm service they are familiar with.

A bespoke menu has been created showcasing bold and zesty flavours with seasonal ingredients and dishes include a colourful Tiki Salad with quinoa, spinach, charred pineapple, edamame beans, toasted coconut flakes, pickled red onion, ginger and lime dressing. Guests can also enjoy a Blackened Salmon Poke Bowl, served with steamed rice, avocado, spring onion, ginger, carrots and a soy and sesame dressing. For those wanting something more indulgent, chicken and pineapple skewers make a perfect choice, or try a Tiki Bar Cheeseburger with grilled pineapple, smoked cheese and rum barbecue sauce.
Bright island flavours inspire the cocktail menu, the classic Tequilla Sunrise, Basil and Bloom a refreshing gin and basil syrup and the Skull and Bones cocktail which delivers a combination of rum, gin, Remy Martin, orange and lime juice. For those who want to try something simpler, a Froze—a frozen Rosé—is the perfect accompaniment to summer.
The Old Bell Hotel is set within the picturesque hilltop town of Malmesbury, a Grade I listed property and thought to be England’s oldest hotel. The hotel’s 34 rooms and suites are individually designed, blending historic charm with contemporary design. Tyger Bar is a light filled space within the hotel that carries guests seamlessly from day to night. The name gives a nod to Malmsbury’s past, a rumoured tiger attack on the barmaid Hannah Twynnoy from a travelling circus in 1907.
Tiki at Tyger Bar offers a fresh addition to the Cotswolds summer social scene, the perfect space to transport you to an island hideaway. Now open throughout the Summer, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for hotel guests and non-residents.
Opening hours:
Friday 3pm-10pm
Saturday 12pm-9pm
Sunday 12pm-9pm (bar closes at 8pm)
