Italian cuisine is the standout star with the new Spring Menu at Settebello Belgrave House in Cheltenham

Available from Tuesday 15th April, the seasonal menu change encapsulates traditional family dishes from Italy using a blend of in season local and speciality Italian ingredients.

The new Spring menu has been created by inhouse Italian chefs and the family owners, to enhance the seasonality and qualities of local produce. Served in the main restaurant, the wide selection includes a range of traditional starters and appetisers, salads, meat, fish and pasta dishes (with gluten free options available).

A selection of canapes from the new menu was previewed at a Spring Soiree event last week, with an impressive turn out of local businesses, food lovers and celebrities. Standouts from the menu included wild mushroom & truffle arancini, focaccia, Salt & pepper deep fried calamari with sriracha mayonnaise and of course the much-loved Italian classic tiramisu. Traditional cocktails, and hand-picked Italian wines were served to guests to accompany the delicious canapes and a specially created spring cocktail using Limoncello.

Deep fried lasagna was also served to guests and as it was the clear star of the night, it has been confirmed that this will be added to the Sotto menu, as a permanent dish!

Settebello Belgrave House opened its doors towards the end of last year following decades of popularity and success at its sister restaurant Trattoria Settebello, located in Gloucester Docks. Whilst the Gloucester restaurant focuses on dishes from the Napoli region of Italy and has an authentic pizza oven producing authentic Neapolitan pizzas and the iconic metro pizza, the Cheltenham restaurant offers Roman style dishes, with more of a focus on fine dining and speciality cuisine.

The stunning interiors spread across three floors with beautiful Italian marble, wooden accents and a European inspired contemporary colour palette. On the lower floor, Sotto, offers a more relaxed offering including Pinsa (a Roman version of pizza/focaccia), to go alongside the ‘holy trinity of pasta’ (the three staple Roman pasta dishes), another Roman classic, fresh and hand made on site. An impressive range of hand-made cocktails, inspired by the owners love of their homeland are also available in Sotto.

The modern conservatory provides an extension to the seating area and bar, and the retractable roof uncovers the beautiful leafy courtyard with a central Cheltenham location.

The Imperiale private dining room can seat up to 20 people and offers an intimate dining experience on the second floor, away from the main restaurant, with beautiful views of the regency town. With its own bar, impressive 6m solid oak table, imported from Italy and comfortable chairs, it’s the perfect location for private dining, celebrations and business meetings or get togethers.

All produce is sourced locally in the main and complemented by European ingredients for authenticity and flavour. The family-owned business focuses on using Gloucestershire suppliers to help support local businesses, and to minimise its carbon footprint. Certain Italian products are imported in, where an equivalent quality cannot be sourced locally.
