Royal Three Counties Show, one of the UK’s largest and most esteemed agricultural and equestrian events, returns to Three Counties Showground from 16 – 18 June 2023 with an exceptional equine programme.
Encompassing eight spacious, extremely well-kept grass rings in the Equine Village, as well as the Main Arena, the Royal Three Counties Show is nothing short of a rider’s dream. From fast and furious scurry driving, inter-hunt relays and showjumpers tackling impressively high fences, to prestigious showing classes spanning in-hand shires, ridden hunters, retrained racehorses and mountain and moorland ponies – and 51 Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualifiers – there’s something to entertain riders of all abilities, grooms, families and competitors.
Some of the top Prince Philip Cup Pony Club Mounted Games teams from across the country will be competing in the Main Arena on Saturday and Sunday, plus the farrier championships will be hotly contested, as sparks fly while farriers from across the UK craft different types of shoes and fit them against the clock.
Pony Clubs from across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire will offer interactive demos and activities on pony care in the all-new Stable Yard, for anyone wanting to brush up on their stable management. There will also be opportunities to learn about how to get into different equestrian careers and what’s involved, through talks by industry experts.
This year, the Royal Three Counties Show will host and sponsor the new Four Show 1.20/1.25m Show Jumping Challenge Series. Competitors will be awarded points from the Royal Three Counties Show, Hanbury Countryside Show, Burwarton Show and Moreton-in-Marsh Show. The combination of horse and rider with the most points will win £300 and a prize rug and sash, and the rider (with two or more horses) with the most points will win £100 and a sash, to be awarded at Moreton-in-Marsh Show in September 2023. The Royal Parade – a new premium retail area located near the Main Arena and the equine rings – will bring together the finest equestrian and luxury country wear, with a champagne bar and Main Arena seating to raise the visitor experience to the next level.
Specialist tack shops will also be located in the Equine Village for visitors to stock up on essentials, try on clothing, boots and hats and browse the latest country wear fashion trends.
