The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire will host an exclusive gala charity evening with stage and screen icon, Sir Derek Jacobi, on Monday 27th April 2026, to raise money for the development of a new education centre at Grove Street in Cheltenham.
Award-winning stage and screen actor, Sir Derek Jacobi, will share anecdotes and stories from his fascinating 60-year career, as well as taking the audience on a historical tour of theatre history, from Shakespeare to Sondheim. Sir Derek will be joined by the Everyman Theatre’s very own EveryVoice Choirs (a network of community-based choirs for all ages and abilities) and the talented young performers from StageDoor Learning (a local provider of vocational performing arts education for young people).
Proceeds from the evening will go to the development and refurbishment of the new Education Centre. This new, dedicated creative arts education and community centre will revive the former Community Resource Centre in Grove Street, providing a hub for the Everyman Theatre’s innovative, engaging and inspiring creative community projects, with a focus on increasing creative arts projects with and for less advantaged communities, improving accessibility for those facing geographical, social, cultural and financial barriers to participation.
