Sudeley Castle & Gardens is now open for enquiries for private weddings and celebrations in 2026, offering couples the chance to experience the magic of the most romantic castle in England, exclusively for their special day.

Often during the summer months, the castle and grounds are closed to the public to allow exclusive wedding hire, offering complete privacy. Whether couples desire opulent and elegant or intimate and cosy, elevated luxury or classic rustic charm, indoor or outdoor, Sudeley Castle has the setting that’s as unique as the couple at the heart of it.
Set amid 1,200 acres of rolling Cotswolds countryside, Sudeley offers breath-taking backdrops from romantic ruins to formal gardens, fountains and pristine lawns, framed by blooming flowerbeds and ancient yew hedges. The castle’s unique charm captivates the heart and provides memories that are forever treasured. The beautiful exterior grounds offer a number of areas for outdoor ceremonies, drinks receptions and lawn games. The glamorous interiors steeped in history make it an ideal venue for couples wanting a luxurious finish to perfectly match the esteemed location.
Sudeley offers a limited number of wedding dates each year, to make sure each couple receives undivided care and attention. With many options available, they specialise in bespoke, exclusive, and one-of-a-kind celebrations. They’re personally on hand throughout the planning process and on the big day itself, to ensure that you have an unforgettable and enchanting day.
Beside the castle at Sudeley stands the exquisite St. Mary’s church. Built in around 1070, this ancient chapel hosts blessing ceremonies that can be delivered by a local vicar, celebrant or even a friend. The chapel lies in the heart of Sudeley’s gardens and can accommodate up to 130 guests.
Within the castle walls, the richly decorated library is available for civil ceremonies. Filled with antiques, fine art, tapestry, and an extensive collection of rare and delicate books, this special room is home to some of Sudeley’s greatest treasures. Available for intimate ceremonies for a maximum of 50 people, the room offers a majestic yet cosy setting and comes with a grand piano for musical accompaniments.
Sudeley Castle is well known for its award-winning gardens and there are several glorious settings in which vows can be made within the grounds. The Haha offers views over the rose garden with the castle as your backdrop and long, pastural views over the rolling Cotswolds hills. The ancient Tithe Barn frames ceremonies with flower-scented ruins of a dream-like quality.
Luxuriously encased in double-planted, 200-year-old yew hedges, The Queen’s Garden is the magnificent centrepiece of Sudeley’s gardens and a quintessentially English setting in which to host your drinks reception. Named after four of England’s Queens –Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I – the garden brims with roses and has a sparkling fountain at its centre.
Surrounded by castle walls and the spectacular ruins of the Royal Apartments, this exquisite lawn enjoys unrivalled romantic backdrops and a sense of history – perfect for open air drinks receptions or alfresco dining. There are several options for marquees where guests can take in views of time-softened ruins of Sudeley’s Royal Apartments.
For larger exclusive celebrations, the manicured North Lawn comfortably accommodates marquees of all sizes. Located between the tree-lined castle entrance and the flower strewn ruins of Sudeley’s glorious Tithe Barn. Wedding celebrations are reflected in the large carp pond, offering magical photographic opportunities.
The light filled Orangery with adjoining Castle Coach House and bar offer versatile spaces in which to accommodate up to 150 guests. The elegant glass structure and wrought iron work offer a classical blank canvas to transform into your dream venue. The far-reaching views across the terrace to the rolling Cotswold Hills beyond make for a fairy tale backdrop and a perfect, sunlit location in which to share your wedding breakfast. The Castle Coach House is steeped in history, perfect for dancing the night away or dining within the castle walls.
There is a wide selection of accommodation for over 100 guests, with 18 individual holiday cottages on the estate offering relaxed, comfortable and thoughtful. Ranging from beautifully renovated ancient buildings, including a paper mill, an old forge, 18th-century workers’ cottages, to new cottages built in distinctive Cotswold stone, the Sudeley Castle Cottages and farmhouses are perfect for groups of three to 14 guests.
All the properties have been carefully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished, many come with gardens and are dog friendly.
Exclusive wedding hire and bespoke wedding packages are now booking for 2026.
